Okanagan Lake

August 26 2010

A couple of guys were out fishing this past week while I was forced to make another trip to the coast!  Marek fished the south end of the lake, picking up bows like this (photo) one.  He was using a variety of gear and getting hits or fish on most of it, flasher/hootchies, Cop Car spoons and Watermelon Apex were the lures of the day.  The biggest fish, which got away, smacked the flasher setup and took 3 good runs before it evaded the net!  Just goes to show you, that flasher stuff really does work on all of our lakes and with bigger fish hitting them, I don't think your going to lack to much fight from the fish!  Marek also mentioned most of the fish were marking down in that 55-70' of water.

Dave got out in the OK Centre area, along with his buddy ( and an old school mate of mine!) Bill Kenny.  Bill is a bit "slow" with the fishing stuff but by taking lessons from Dave he too can take fish like this (photo) one!  Dave used one of his fav Lyman's, a grn with black specks and gold sparkles, down at 58'.  There's that depth thing again!

Greg and Nan have been out quite a bit in the past weeks as well.  They have been getting into some nice fish thanks to the grn/whi Lyman way down at 100'!.  Nan caught this (photo) nice fish on just that rig and it was at 60' while the other 4 were deeper. Thanks for the reports guys.............
