Okanagan Lake

June 22 2008

Greg spent a few days on the lake over the weekend up at the north end.  Fishing was a bit slow but he did get into bows this size (photo) and into a few koks as well.  Best hook was the Cop Car Apex down at 60' while he went deeper yet and got into kokanee!  With fish marking down at 127' he put on a "secret" of Jims and as quick as he got it down  there he had a kokanee on the line.  Nothing huge, in that 10" area that seems to be the average size for ones being caught right now.  According to the "experts" of which I am not one, kokanee are very light sensitive (but what fish isn't?) so like the dark and deep during the day.  Then how come you see them jumping all over the surface in the middle of the day you say?  Danged if I know, ask the experts!  Anyways, Sunday was pretty much a write-off once that weather system blew through the area, not even a bite.  Thanks for the report buddy!!     (Next Page)
