Jim and his better half Julie, made it out to Arrow (Shelter Bay) for a couple days, nice to see someone can hit the road and fish other lakes! As with our own local lakes, Arrow is on the rise and full of debris so, the fish here too are scattered about. On Saturday (7th) they got into a couple of small bull trout and this bow (photo), all were taken on a 7" AC Plug with a couple ozs of weight. On Sunday they took a few more small bulls (photo) on the same AC Plug as the previous day and that was their trip! Jim did talk to a couple other anglers while there, some "nice" and some "not so nice", boo on the "not so nice" one! They also were into fish on the weekend, their secret, if you want to call it that, was a blu/chrome Rapala pulled right in close to shore with little or no weight on it. I have to go with Jim's opinion on this one and it may have been more, "the right place right time right hook" factor but, whatever, they got into a few nice fish. Thanks for the report Sutherlands, next time throw in a pic or two of the wife Jim!

Kirk made it over to Shelter Bay with his crew of guys, fishing kinda slow but apparently the food was good! All they managed were a couple of bulls in that 5-6 lb range during their excursion, Dennis took this one (photo) on a blu/yel Lyman down at 68'. They spoke to a couple of locals out there who told them that the fishing has in fact been pretty slow the last while. Hey, do you think they'd actually tell you the hot spots Kirk? You know how fisherman are sometimes, they're not all as friendly as us Okanagan/Shuswap guys! Still snow in the camping area to the north of the out house's but the 4 new spots are kinda cleared out. Kirk says they were nice and warm in their tents but I was afraid to get further details on that so we'll leave it alone! Thanks for the report Kirk!

Well, Jim was the first one to break in Arrow with an official report! He headed up Thursday night with a mission to find that record bull trout out of the lake and while that didn't happen, he did get into fish! On the 21st Jim fished Beaton Arm and he took 2 small bows and 3 smaller bulls, no mention of hooks or depths. On the 22nd Jim switched to the main lake and again took a few fish but not the trophy he was looking for! He did get 3 small bows, 4 small bulls and the kok in this pic (photo) that was around 3 lbs., that was it for this day. That kok took a prl/pnk HS down at 27'.
On the 23rd and final day Jim woke up to some real crappy weather as indicated by these guys camping (photo), looks a little to ugly out even for Capt. Poppy! With the wind that picked up on the main lake Jim opted for Beaton Arm again to try and get out of some of it. Slow day but he did manage a couple of bulls, one small one on a #4 blk/whi Len Thompson pulled right on top and then a bigger bull over 10 lbs on a AC Plug and again pulled right on top. That was it for Jims Arrow trip, all in all a success I'd say, regardless if you didn't get that trophy Jim. Hey, you've got the rest of the year to find that bad boy! Thanks for the report, got your message on the way through but a bit to late!
