The Captain!

Meet your host, Sheldon Sherman.

Affectionately known as 'Capt. Poppy' by my family (and Blampa by my grandkids Brett and Alexa!), I've been fishing practically my entire life, from the little creeks that ran through Winfield and the shores of Wood Lk,  out to the Coast, then up in Northern BC, down to the Kootenays and now back to the Thompson/Okanagan area.   Although I was kind of an avid fly fisherman from birth, I have now also turned to the Big Lakes of the Interior to put my fishing skills to work. After retiring from the RCMP I took up the guiding trade and did 7 years of that, adding to my resume of life!

This doesn't mean to say that I have retired the fly rod but make it a point to try all kinds of ways to catch fish.  Whenever I'm out on the lake, its whatever method is most productive at the time that I switch to, which makes for an even more interesting trip.

If you are out to try and catch the 'Big One' or  just catch fish, then this website is the first place to start at!  It is packed with fishing reports, tips on everything and information from other knowledgeable anglers that share their "secrets" with me.

If your looking for a "free" online fishing magazine then this is the site to add to your favourites.  It is the ONLY site that contains accurate and up-to-date information on fishing.  Other sites may contain pictures of fish caught (and always the largest of course!) but none of them provide all the details as to the Fishing W5's, the Who, What, Where, When and Why factors of fishing.  Looking after the website myself allows me the ability to get out new stuff while its still new, not weeks down the road or even months in some cases.  I invite any ideas or suggestions that can make this site even more attractive and always look forward to comments that other anglers may have.

I have been asked in the past to set up a Forum on this site but, I'm afraid this son, husband, father, grandfather, angler, groomer and website guy just has only so much time and a Forum is time consuming.  That doesn't mean you can't email me and rag on me or whatever you want to talk about, always open to that.

Blampa's favourite passengers when he goes fishing, Alexa and Brett!
